Sigh

So, I make a real effort to have plants in the apartment. I think they give the space a lovely energy and sense of life. Even though I live in sunny Southern California, my apartment doesn't get that much light. So I'm constantly killing plants. A lot of plants. I've probably nurtured and killed somewhere in the ballpark of 20. I recently had a spurt where I had about 8 plants thriving, but one died (now replaced) and another two are starting to sag, and the orchid's skin is starting to prune (too much water? too little??). It's disappointing.

My friend brought this up when she discussed a movie idea with my boyfriend--she wants to make a film about all different kinds of strange people; hoarders, other compulsive persons. "Or," she said "we can make a movie about Dodo Bird...the crazy person who tries to grow plants in the dark."

I'm starting to think she's right.
