I Don't Want To Lose Your Love Tonight

I told a friend of mine that I was blogging about living in Tempe or the Southwest in general. I told her my Dodo partner is blogging about living in LA. She said, "Well, that's unfair." I started to argue with her because I felt defensive about my city. I did a litmus test to see if there really was more to living in LA than Tempe.

Great Things About Los Angeles:
It's not that far to get to the beach.
Real neighborhoods packed high into multi-story buildings, existing within walking distance to bars and small grocery stores.
It's an easy-drinking town.
You might run into a celebrity (even though I never have).
Pinkberry.
Perez Hilton.
Jobs.
Museums.
Street art.
People on the streets appear to have dressed themselves consciously, affecting a "personal look".

Great Things About Tempe:
There is a Bashas, Fry's, or Safeway on every street corner.
I can use a cruiser to get to almost any city landmark because I know all the neighborhoods.
Every neighborhood has an Asian family and you can see the grandmas and grandpas taking long slow walks at dusk and dawn.
